Paul Matey is a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He was nominated to the court by President Donald Trump and confirmed by the Senate in April 2019. Before his judicial appointment, Matey had worked as an attorney in private practice and also served as an Assistant United States Attorney in New Jersey. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and has clerked for judges on the Third Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Matey has been involved in various conservative legal organizations and is considered to be a part of the Federalist Society.
